Gloria Ann Rey (nee Brotherton) age 94, died on Friday November 17, 2023. Gloria was born in Detroit and she was a longtime resident of Ferndale. Gloria was the beloved wife of the late Russell Rey for 35 years. Gloria was predeceased by her parents, Charles Frederick Brotherton and Anne Brotherton (nee Chapados), sister Barbara Nastas, and brother Joseph Brotherton. Gloria graduated from St James High School (Ferndale) and worked for several railroad companies, from New York and Penn Central to Conrail Corporation. She was known as "Aunt Gogo" to all who knew and loved her. She had a happy joyful spirit and loved to laugh. She had a knack of making everyone feel special. She loved baking cakes and pies, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She had a wonderful soprano voice and loved to sing, sharing that gift at many family weddings. She was known for her quick wit and funny comebacks. She leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and great great nieces and great great nephews. 

 Visitation will be Sunday November 26, 2023 from 2:00pm - 8:00pm at Spaulding & Curtin Funeral Home, 500 West Nine Mile Rd. Ferndale, with a Rosary Sunday at 7:00PM. Funeral Mass Monday, November 27, 2023 at St. Anastasia Church, 4571 John R Troy, MI 48085 with in state visitation Monday from 9:30am until time of Mass at 10:00am.  She will be interred at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield, MI.
